Birthday Month

I have decided that this year I am going to enjoy celebrating my birthday month. The past month has not been my favorite in the history of good months, so I decided that this month was going to be different. What better excuse than have a whole month to celebrate your birthday? A couple of weeks ago, Sam and I went to eat at the Pharmacy in East Nashville. If you haven't been there, you should plan a date night to go there. Just be sure to go about an hour or so before you are hungry because there is always a wait, but it is worth it! Take my word for it and go try it out! ;) We met up with some friends from work and hung out downtown for a little bit.
We had such a great time hanging out with people from work. We never really get to go somewhere non work related, so it was nice to go somewhere and let our hair down so to speak. Ignore the crazy eye below. Every picture I have with the three of us have the crazy eye. Oh well..
On my actual birthday, my mom came to the school and brought me the most awesome lunch ever...the Depot! Let me be known that it was the complete package with fried pickles, the best salad, and sandwich coupled with my favorite cupcake that my pal from Brown Sugar Cakeroom is going to sell in December! I got to taste test and man I am hooked! Another thing to add to your list of must go's is to go there and get the Gingerbread cupcake. You will love it! I promise! :) That night we went to eat with our main crew, the Barrios clan! Of course we had to go to Shogun and again it did not disappoint. So good..even to eat as leftovers the next day!
Friday night we had a bonfire at the house. It was a much needed event because our house needed that good ole deep clean! I counted this as another birthday event, even though really it was just a friend gathering so Sam could make a bonfire. He's been wanting to have a bonfire ever since it started to get a little cool outside. Everyone had a good time.
On Saturday, Sam and I took off on a little day trip to Louisville, KY to go to the UNC vs Louisville football game. I thought that it was going to be a little bit more of a game, so the score being 34-7 at the end of the first half was a little disappointing.
We got there early so we had time to walk around for a little bit. There wasn't really a whole lot going on as far as UNC goes. We were definitely in the minority in Louisville. We found a little pep rally that the band and cheerleaders were putting on for the UNC fans across the street. Sam got to shake the hand of the UNC athletic director, so that was cool.
We left at half time because the score was so ridiculous and Sam wanted to catch some of the UT vs FL game. As soon as we left, the defense finally decided to play some ball and the offense remembered how to catch and run the ball so the final score came back 34-39. What a comeback and we weren't there! That's how it goes I suppose.
On Sunday, my family got together and had lunch at Spaghetti Factory, one of my favorite places to eat since I was little! It is still my favorite too! :)

Who knows what the rest of my birthday month will hold but I will enjoy every bit of it!

Birthday Boy, Boone

A year ago Tuesday we were all waiting around for this "little" guy to get here. We were waiting to finally know what the name of our little nephew was going to be. Early, early in the morning on Sept. 4th we were greeted with Boone Avery, almost 10 lbs of baby boy.
Sam and I with Boone Avery
Let me add..WOW am I glad that I quit messing with my eyebrows and man I wish someone would have told me how stupid they looked...Okay now on to more important things.

He decided to make his appearance before Thanksgiving! :) He got to spend our friends Thanksgiving with us. This face shows that he already knew I was a crazy aunt from the beginning.
Boone has added another number to our already pretty huge family! :) There has definitely not been a dull moment the past year in the Claud get togethers! Actually there are very few times that there are dull moments in our household! :)
Happy birthday little Boone boy! You have such an amazing personality, a stomach that can hold endless amounts of food, a mom and dad who love you more than life itself, a huge family who loves you too! You have had one exciting first year Boone and are sure to have many, many more!

We love you!
